Jim Crow Museum

Walk a mile in our shoes, how would you feel having the historical context of your survival under these oppressive systems highlighted in this way. I think the museum promotes conversations about race, laws, and norms that supported the media misrepresentations of Black People in America. Let’s travel on this journey of understanding together, allow ourselves to be immersed in the underbelly of American Society which created the supremacist ideology that divides us as opposed to the intrepid dialogue that may unite us, Let’s get started!

Baltimore Protest gone wrong

There are many things we can call each other that offend and upset us, however, there’s no excuse for old-school fighting to prove your point. We must find better ways to teach our children to protest at the ballot boxes, to use words as tools not weapons, and to display sparks of humanity, not inhumanity. Let’s not get caught up in our feelings, let’s vote with our feet at the ballot boxes, let’s change the legislation that holds us in bondage and work to heal the wounds of the pst crating joy and unity towards a brighter future. America is becoming brown, don’t frown, embrace the change, I promise you we will not treat you as we’ve been treated. Have patience, understanding, and awareness of the frustrations that have bound our ability to move into the greatness we are destined to receive. Let’s pursue peace.

We are changing the narrative one circle at a time

The Aftermath of Violence

Why and how do we understand the glorification of violence within our own communities? Is is a diminishing value of black life? is it a sense that the consequences are not as high when we take a black life from our own community as opposed to that of another/ Violence is never a good solution, however why is it used so frequently by the largest most robust countries in the world? Why are our young black and brown boys sent off to fight, learn to use high caliber weapons, learn the tenants of war as opposed to learning the core elements of peace, restorative justice and collaboration? What would happen if we shift our teaching, using the military as a tool to learn peaceful means of collaboration, community, connection as opposed to conquering others without the means to defend themselves?

Lasheena Speaks out, FBG DUCK’s Mother with

The back story is rarely heard or seen, listen to the story of a grieving mother, what went sideways, what are the struggles, listen to the struggle, the challenges, the heartbreak and the pain. We should never forget the aftermath of violence in our communities.

Impacts of the Carceral State

There’s a target on the backs of black men, the target has no generational protection other than “faith” in a system that allows you to raise with no limit, there are laws and norms within the systematic oppressions impacting your ability to live free even within ordinances designed to insure that you are judged by a jury of your peers. “The carceral state” is a term that many of us are unfamiliar with – https://youtu.be/dy12qq-ngLc learn, grow, evolve to know the law, now your rights and operate in life knowing that oppression will never allow us to be treated fairly within or outside of the system. Violence is never an option in our community too many of us struggle from (PTSD Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), PTSS (Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome) to results of these conditions create anxiety, anger and unresolved issues within you that result of a false sense of resolution through violence. Weather Louisiana, Des Moines Washington, Seattle, Tacoma, Kent Federal Way, gun violence is never the correct option. There are always victims beyond the bullets

Children and Families are Victims too:

there’s no sense of justice, fairness or true opportunity for generational wealth and health without faith. Our Grandchildren are now victims of this senseless violence.

Some of us are out here doing the best we can given our circumstances – Master P serves as one of many examples.

Violence in South King County

I pray for the mothers, sisters and brothers, suffering from losses of loved ones, Friends who lost confidants and community members. Just remember you are a target, and to protect yourself and others from the rise of community violence, in justice, tyranny and doom, we must have faith in the most high, You are kings and queens, rulers and managers, business men and women, lovers of family, truth, community and life let’s act like it.

Many organizations are fighting to ensure that you have direction and protection from these damaging results such as violence, re-incarceration, yes – we were incarcerated when we were stolen from our homelands, incarcerated when we fall prey to red lining, credit death and insurrections, in addition to the industrial prison complexes of the new lands. Raylin James Raw Interview (Ellensburg WA.)

Summary

Raylin James – Fights for Justice and Freedom in Washington State Courts, is he being treated with fairness? Does his melanated skin provide a glaring disadvantage? How can we support his journey?  After 16 months behind bars, Jaylin continues to proclaim his innocence while the blindfolded Just Us continues to treat him like a marginalized citizen.  His fight for justice is a little different than that of, Oscar Grant, Bryonna Taylor, and the many more lives lost, caught up in the carceral state. The significant difference is “he’s alive, he’s strong, he’s fighting for his freedom and he can tell his story in his own words, listen to the microaggressions he experiences within the carceral system, Judges, Prosecutors, and Law Enforcement investigators exercising a legal privilege, stronger than most systems in this country and the world “The Legal Carceral System. In this case, it’s not only the police, it’s the prosecutor, the judges, and the entire system that will fail him just as it did Kalif Browder.

I’m not an attorney,  a judge, or a law enforcement officer but I know how to listen for injustice, criminal behavior, and bias when I hear it, Do you?
